ATKR Studios Plans


Hello everyone! It's Alan here. I would like to talk about some things really quick. This post will include currently known bugs, things we want to add to the game, and more! Make sure to read on if you're curious about the future of Drag n' Drop.


Let's start with something obvious. I haven't worked on the game very much. I apologize for this, school has been pretty stressful lately. I am saying here now that development is back in progress. It never really halted, me and Kenzei were brainstorming ideas throughout the entire time we weren't working on the game actively. But please keep in mind, big stuff is coming!!!


CURRENTLY KNOWN BUGS


-A certain Easter Egg doesn't work correctly

-Border doesn't work correctly

-Mover doesn't interact with Border

-Mover will move the Moveable block down when you attempt to place the mover in the exact spot where the Moveable block is, make Mover block move down instead.

-Generate-able block can clip into Generator, and can be placed in the same area.

-Generate-able block has little to no collision with Generator

-Generate-able block doesn't get moved to Dragged layer while being dragged, this causes it to go under a lot of objects.

If you find anymore, please let us know!


TO-DO


-Fix Level 3

-Change back to old mover sprite (Alternatively, fix Mover's current sprite)

-Change Generate-able Block outline color

-Change Non-enemy killing blocks' outline to a darker red, current outline blends in with enemy.

-Add lighting system(?)

-Solve some performance issues

-Make a separate tutorial screen, explains all blocks (that are currently in the game) and shows you how to use them, as opposed to having it in the actual level.

-Fix window size in HTML5 version



THE FUTURE OF DRAG N' DROP


We have some big plans, so get ready for a long list of things.


- Polished sprites

- 25+ new levels as a "story mode"

- "Advanced" levels

- Some kind of boss battle as an end to the "story mode"

- More Easter Eggs!

- Level editor

- Block skins

- Co-op mode

- Even more blocks

- Game modding (read Extra Goodies for more info on that!)

- Custom blocks

- Online battle mode

- Mobile port

- Steam port

- Linux build

- Soundtrack

- A lot more!

THE FUTURE OF ATKR STUDIOS


We currently have some projects planned, we're only going to talk about one of those here.


Our next project is a digital card game. This is in EXTREMELY EARLY DEVELOPMENT. We haven't even made the GDevelop project yet. All we have is ideas.


GAME MODDING


This is a fun one, get ready!

So today, I discovered something really cool. If you go into Drag n' Drop's folder and go into the "resources" folder, there is a file called "app.asar". If you open this in notepad or any other code-editing software, you should be able to make mods for the game. If you can figure this out, post a mod in the comments of the game page! We'll make a collection specifically for mods.

Alternatively, we plan to go open-source sometime soon. This will allow you to easily make mods using GDevelop! There is just a couple things we ask if you wish to mod...

You MUST leave the credits page as it is. You can add your name and credit yourself for the mod, but don't remove any names. We will report your mod if you remove any names from the credits. Also, don't make your mod paid unless we let you (Just ask, we're not very strict!). We don't want Drag n' Drop to be a paid game, and we don't want the mods like that either.


CONCLUSION

We have a lot of things planned for Drag n' Drop and ATKR Studios. We hope you enjoy these new things (when they arrive), and have fun with Drag n' Drop or other projects.
